Growing Information: The plant should be grown in a dry or moist soil in the sun and enjoys stable growth in zone 10. It cannot thrive in the shade and prefers sandy, loamy or clay soils that are well drained. Seeds should be sown in a cold frame in the springtime at a shallow depth, just below the surface. Ideal germination range is between 50-65 degrees Fahrenheit. The seed should be planted in moist soil or can be planted in dry soil followed by irrigation of the seeds. When the seedlings are large enough to handle they should be moved into individual pots followed by planting outside in the early months of summer. Flowering occurs in approximately sixty days, and seeds follow in the dried capsule that is left behind after flowering ends.
